Health Ministries

The Health Ministry Committee is a team of health care professionals who volunteer their services to our parish and the greater community. The Health Ministers include registered nurses, medical doctors, physician's assistants, social workers, nurse practitioners and chaplains who offer health education, coaching, advocacy and simple screenings. In the past 5 years, the Health Ministry team has provided many services, such as:

  • Adult education and speakers on various topics, including Ed Reinhardt author of You're OK Kid .
  • Providing weekly health tips in the bulletin, flu shot clinics, blood pressure checks, diabetic education and screenings, hearing and vision screenings for ELC and MPB school age children.
  • Programs concerning End of Life and grief loss panels and Aging with Dignity and Five Wishes Program.

In addition to these services they have provided individual crisis counseling, support to IHN families as medical volunteers, a pediatric panel of experts, and American Red Cross Babysitting class taught by the health ministry team members who are certified instructors.

The Health Care Ministry team welcomes new members and suggestions for programs that would serve the needs of our community.
