Sacramental Preparation for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation Most Precious Blood children start to prepare to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist in first grade and conclude preparation during second grade. The MPB preparation for the sacraments is a two-year program. The first year, families must be enrolled in FAITH (the MPB religious education program) or be enrolled at the MPB school. During the second year of preparation, usually during second grade, families must be enrolled in FAITH or at the school AND participate in an additional yearlong program called Sacramental Preparation. During the second year of preparation, as the primary educators of their children, parents are responsible for preparing their children for these sacraments. Parents are supported in this important task by the Pastor and the Faith Formation Director with two trainings. One of the trainings highlights Reconciliation and the other First Communion. Also, throughout the year, parents and students participate in two celebrations called 'Rites'. These obligatory 'Rites' are the Rite of Belonging and the Rite of Sharing God's Word. These underscore the significance of the sacraments in deepening the faith of the children and are celebrated with the entire MPB Sacramental Preparation community. First Reconciliation preparation happens in the fall and winter with the First Reconciliations completed during Advent. For more information and enrollment, please contact Rita Mailander at the Parish Office, 303.756.3083 or mailander@mpbdenver.org. F.A.I.T.H. -Children's Faith Formation F.A.I.T.H- Faith Alive in the Home is the parish program designed for the whole family to journey together. It offers greater opportunities to explore and deepen faith as a community while providing a strong foundation for children.
The lessons this year for FAITH (faith alive in the home) focus on the parables of Jesus.

This program is offered during the masses on Saturday (4:30 pm) and Sunday (9:00 and 10:45 am) from mid-September through May, holidays excluded. There is no registration or cost for this program. Children from 3 years to kindergarten have the opportunity to hear and reflect on the Sunday readings at their own Liturgy of the Word.
Catechist volunteers facilitate these groups on the average of one Mass per month. We invite adults and teens to work with these children. Safe environment training is required. For more information, please contact the Parish Office at 303.756.3083.
