Summer is coming. Don't forget suntan lotion and insect repellent. Both products are necessary for healthy summer fun. It is not recommended that you use products that combine the two. When they are
combined, the insect repellent becomes less effective. So the extra time needed to put two different
products on will be worth it in the long run, when you're not hurting from bug bites or sunburn.

Having trouble getting eye drops into your children's eyes? Have your child lie down, and close his
or her eyes. Instill the drops into the inside corer of the eye, then have the child slowly open his
or her eyes. This will allow the medication to spread across the sclera.

Keep a bottle of liquid antihistamine, like Benedryl, in your medicine cabinet at all times. It is
great to have on hand in case of an allergic reaction, like might happen when starting a new
antibiotic. It can be used to treat someone in transport to the emergency room, or can prevent the
need for such a visit. It is also great to have for treatment of bee stings, reactions to food, and
environmental causes.

Women are less likely to experience crushing paid when having a heart attack. As a result, they are
3 times more likely to die from it, because it is frequently misdiagnosed. Common symptoms are
fainting, nausea, shortness of breath and heavy sweating. So if you experience these symptoms,
especially if you are female, elderly or diabetic, you could be having a heart attack.

Here is another reason you need to eat your fruits and vegetables. A major international study says
that the strongest protective factor against heart attack is to eat them. High intake of fruits and
vegetables in the diet cut risk by 30%! Unfortunately most Americans do not get the recommended
minimum of 5 daily.

Do you need a good night's sleep? Maybe you are lack of magnesium. Several studies have shown that
a low magnesium level can alter the electrical activity in the brain, which in turn causes agitated
sleep and frequent awakenings. The recommended daily allowance for magnesium is 320mg for women and
400 mg for men.

Is your sweet tooth giving you trouble? Try eating spicy food instead. Sharp-tasting foods, like
pickles, hot peppers and tomato juice can overwhelm your taste buds, therefore satisfying you
appetite and cravings.

Skip the sad movies, if you have a tendency to overeat. Downer movies cause a drop in seratonin,
which leads to overeating in some people.

Ginger helps soothe knee pain. A substance in ginger called gingerol is as effective as aspirin in
reducing inflammation. But, use caution before taking a supplement, it can also thin blood.
