3rd
Quarter Honor Roll

Dear Parents,
Many of you remember
Mrs. Rosemary Snow, Mrs. Snow or Ms. Rosemary to the kids. She
was librarian here at MPB for many years and shared her love of
books with all the MPB children.
After leaving MPB Mrs.
Snow was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer, in some form, has
affected all of us, and until cures are found, will continue to
affect us.
Mrs. Snow and her daughter
are going to be walking in the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk this
summer to promote awareness and raise money for research. She
has let us know that she is raising money for this cause. In an
effort to connect to our community and to those affected with
cancer, we are going to set up a special day and have all proceeds
for that day given to Mrs. Snow for breast cancer research.
On Thursday, May 15 we
are going to have a Dress as your favorite Book Character Day.
On this day the children are welcome to come dressed as a character
from a book. They could be Harry Potter, the Cat in the Hat, Junie
B. Jones, Jigsaw Jones, Pippi Longstocking, the possibilities
are endless. It doesn't have to be an elaborate costume, it can
be something quite simple. We thought having a day to think about
our favorite books and characters would help us to think about
Mrs. Snow and how she touched all of our lives with her love of
literature. It would also help us to remember that there are many
people who touch our lives and there are many lives that we touch
and it is important to remember those people even when they are
not in our daily lives anymore.
On this day the children
will be asked to make a donation for Mrs. Snow's walking project
- we're not going to put a price on it - they can bring a dime
or a dollar - whatever they would like to contribute. If you have
any questions, please contact your child's teacher.
Thank you!
