Week Ending - 05/19/2008

On Tuesday, 5/27 Second Grade will be hosting the Country Fair. There will be coffee, doughnuts, and conversation in the Parish Center from 8:00 to 8:45 for parents who want to 'hang around' to see the 'fair' and need to go somewhere while the rooms get set up. Thank you to the parents who have taken care of these arrangements!

Dr. Wahl (father of Jack) visited with both Second Grade Classes this week. He came in to supplement our learning about the heart. Not only did all the students get a rubber heart, they got the option of having 'heart' for lunch. He brought in a 'healthy heart' and a 'sick heart' made from jello and looking way too realistic for some of the students who did in fact opt not to eat some of the heart. He also brought in ten stethoscopes to be used for Science Classes which Ms. Nickoloff has been searching for. Thank you Dr. Wahl.

Don't forget the school can always use those Campbell's Soup Labels, Box Tops for Education. Grocery Certificates for King Soopers and

Safeway are also available. Proceeds from which help the school. Thanks.

"Dress as Your Favorite Book Character" Day went well. Thank you once again for your support for this worthwhile project and thanks to Mrs. Haling for spearheading this.

We all enjoyed the Talent Show and want to especially congratulate the Second Graders who participated from 2H - Lizzy, Sophia, Jessie; 2N - Sarah, Taylor and Jack. Good Job!

Next Thursday (5/22), the Second Graders may wear their First Communion Finest to Mass and then change after Mass. Those who didn't receive may also dress up as all the students will be honored at Mass.

Reminders: 5/26 - No School; 5/30 - 10:00 a.m. Dismissal.
