This Moment is About Technology Class
Students in technology will gain knowledge and experience through the internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, graphical organizers, and our typing program. All of the students that have technology class this semester except for first grade and kindergarten) have done typing on the typing program we have here at school. We use Type to Learn III by Sunburst http://store.sunburst.com/. In addition to typing all students experience our graphical organizers: Kidspiration and Inspiration. First, second, and third grade primarily stick to Kidspiration, while Inspiration is a bit more appropriate for the older students.

The Student's Moment in Technology has Looked Like…

-The first grade and kindergarten have been working Starfall.com for letter and reading skills.
-The second and third grades have made great strides in their typing.
-Fourth grade has had a lot of fun challenging their classmates on online trivia.
-Fifth grade is working on a technology timeline.
-Sixth grade finished their group country reports, and have begun a project working on the etymology of words.
-Seventh grade just finished a group project on Labor Day heroes and they are now preparing PowerPoint presentations on a Catholic Saint dear to them.
-Eighth grade has completed a presentation on three different occupations, we used Excel to calculate the gravitational force on each of the eight planets, the moon, and Pluto, and they are now doing a group presentation mustering up funding in order to fight a natural disaster.
