Faith & Light is an international movement that supports people with mental and physical disabilities and their families by connecting them with friends and providing an opportunity for their unique gifts and talents to be shared and valued. Our Faith & Light community meets monthly to share a meal, share our lives and to pray together.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), paragraph 1666, says, “The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason, the family home is rightly called ‘the domestic church,’ a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity.”
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to religious education for children rooted in the Montessori method of education. It was developed by Sofia Cavalletti, a Roman Catholic educator, and Gianna Gobbi, a Montessori teacher. This catechesis seeks to nurture the spiritual life of children by providing a prepared environment that encourages contemplation and deep connection with the Christian faith.
